Gov. Perry Reappoints Novak to Texas Facilities Commission
Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed Michael “Mike” Novak of San Antonio to the Texas Facilities Commission for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2019. The commission is responsible for the acquisition of goods, services and facilities for state government.
Novak is president and CEO of the Novak Group. He is presiding tri-chairman of the City of San Antonio Office of Military Affairs Base Realignment and Closure Implementation Board and chairman of Morningside Ministries . He is also a board member of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Cancer Therapy and Research Center, past president of the Texas and San Antonio chapters of the Associated General Contractors, past chairman of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and KLRN Public Television, and a former Bexar County commissioner.
Novak received a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University.
This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.

Novak Group’s CEO Receives Board Leadership Award
LeadingAge Texas recently named Novak Group’s CEO, Mike Novak, the recipient of its statewide 2012 Board Leadership Award. He was selected for his significant contributions in strategic planning and fundraising as Chairman of the Board of Morningside Ministries.
Morningside Ministries is a 50 year old faith-based organization providing a full continuum of care for older adults a 50 year old faith-based organization providing a full continuum of care for older adults. With $100 million in assets, Morningside is one of the largest non-profits in South Texas.

Keystone School Selects Novak Group for Green Project
April 24, 2012 – Novak Group LLC, a San Antonio-based Energy Efficiency Service Provider, today announced that it has signed a contract with Keystone School to implement energy efficiency and conservation measures throughout the school campus. The project will include installing an energy management system and lighting sensors which will provide greater efficiencies in controlling and reducing the school’s HVAC and lighting costs.
Committed to energy conservation and to fostering a culture and campus that promotes sustainability, Keystone School has scheduled this project to be implemented the summer of 2012. The energy efficiency project is expected to reduce the school’s energy consumption by about 20% annually.
Lucas Novak, VP of Energy Services for Novak Group, said, “We are pleased to work with Keystone School which is teaching its students by example the importance of energy conservation to our environment and to good financial stewardship.”
